In the midst of my hatred of everything Memphis, and my shock of seeing Eamon Brennan taking Memphis to win the CUSA (which is actually looking like a possibility at this point), I totally missed the fact that Fran Fraschilla took SMU to win the CUSA tournament. A for effort in the upset picks, but F for execution for Fran. SMU was ranked 7th in CUSA, and quickly lost to #10 Rice in the play in game. Makes you wonder how someone like that could work for ESPN. To be fair, however, SMU did beat Rice twice this year, once in OT at home.
Sorry. Had to make fun of someone to feel better about the Illinois game. The same Illinois game I saw the last three years where they inexplicably dont score for 8 minute stretches. THen complain about every foul they committ. Zero leadership, zero heart, zero clutch level, zero chance of making the 2nd weekend.
